Nyamurinda

Nyamurinda Coffee Growers Ltd is a women-led business. It specialises in high quality coffee in zones known for their high cupping score due to high altitude.

Two sisters, Francine Nyiramana and Immaculee Mukarama, after losing their entire family, courageously established a coffee plantation in the southern province of Rwanda which has developed into today's Nyamurinda Coffee Growers Ltd. Their family’s farm is situated on Nyamurinda Mountain, where the company’s name got its origin.

The Terroir
The company’s activities are located in the Southern province of Rwanda, in the Nyamagabe District (Kibirizi sector) and in the Western province, in the Karongi district. Both are mountainous and high-altitude regions (1800m – 2000 masl) with deep well-drained sandy loam soil.

Nyamurinda Coffee Growers Ltd owns Karora Washing Station which processes specialty coffee from its own farm as well as smallholder farms on Karora Mountain organised as the Karora Cooperative.
The Karora Washing Station processes the Karoo Cooperative Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance-certified coffee.
